Homage Crewneck
Twenty years ago, two guys from Minneapolis loaded a years worth of effort into the back of a station wagon and drove to Las Vegas. In 2004, everyone who was anyone in the bike world (and anyone who wanted to be someone) went to Interbike, North America's biggest cycling-specific trade show. The Sands Expo and Convention Center is massive. At just over 2.25 million square feet, it can be a little overwhelming to walk into for the first time. It was shocking to think what we had paid for a 10 foot by 10 foot chunk of that space, way in the back corner, but it was worth a shot to see if this crazy idea had legs. With a couple of old tables (that we had spray painted gray and black to match one another) four folding chairs from Ikea and an accordion-style backdrop that someone gave us, we methodically hung up (and re-hung up) the SIX graphic jerseys and SIX graphic t-shirts that we had worked for a year to conceive of, design, source and sample. At that time, no one else was doing anything like us. Would bike shops and / or consumers dig a more fashion-oriented perspective on cycling apparel? At the very least, we were proud of the line of 'alternative cycling apparel' we had created. Then a voice came over the loud speaker and announced that Interbike 2004 was officially underway. The front doors opened. Dealers began flooding in. And we decided that failure was not an option. Our September T-shirt of the Month is a tribute to all of the years of hard work. It features an enormous spectrum of graphics and styles, spanning a range of time from earlier this summer to one that we hung up on that backdrop 20 years ago. Thank you for being a part of keeping this ride going for two decades. #ForeverForward
